“God of all comfort, strengthen us in the day of seeming failure, when all we have done in love for you appears to be a waste. Let our hearts remain steadfast; let us not doubt the value of a broken alabaster jar.” (cf. Matthew 26:7)
It’s amazin’. The most beautiful pieces of art come from the ugliest situations. So I praise Him, rejoicin’ in my sufferin, cause I know He’s got a masterpiece in the makin’.
The redemptive news in all the messiness of a broken and fallen world is that Christ actually entered our broken, messy, and fallen world to love, rescue, and save us.
He showed us the way. He made a way. He is the way.
Take heart: We are not alone. God is with us.
We make heroes out of a lot of things. We make heroes out of people. We believe ourselves to be greater than we really are. We make ourselves look like heroes to other people. What I really wanted to do is show the brokenness of the heroes that we create and the heroes that we try to be in order to show that there is ultimately only one great hero.
