Re: Lent
J. Simons:
I don’t observe Lent nor given it much thought, but something that came up in my mind as I was reading your post is that Christ’s sacrifice wasn’t self focused, but others focused. I think that’s important to remember for anyone observing Lent.
Thanks. I like that a lot.

Writer Daniel Tovrov writes:
Nadarkhani has been waiting in limbo for this verdict for months. But now, Nadarkhani could be executed within days.

I had a great sex talk with some women tonight.
How sex is seen in America and the influence of pornography in shaping our views and expectations about sex.
How often we see the physical aspect of sex and continue to overlook the emotional component of sex.
How “progressive” America is with women’s rights, yet demeans women through pornography, media, music, or simply how we depict women’s friendships.
How...

Jeremy Lin: His Impact On Changing The Perception... →
Writer Victor Chi quotes USC professor Ruth Chung:
“The greatest beauty in what Jeremy Lin is doing is that he fulfills an Asian American stereotype — he is smart, he went to Harvard, he works hard — and by doing so, he subverts another stereotype,” Chung says. “If Asian men are going to be seen as intelligent, they have to be dismissed in other ways: Socially...
